Everything That Glitters is Gold During These Tours at the Victor Lowell Thomas Museum
Victor's history is one of exploration, ranching, gold mining and railroading. The Victor Lowell Thomas Museum has a 60-year history in Victor and features displays on the historic gold mining days as well the miners and pioneers, some of them millionaires, who made town famous.
The museum will again be hosting tours of the Newmont Mining Corporation’s Cripple Creek and Victor operations near Victor. Experience mining this summer and explore gold rush history past and present at the Victor Lowell Thomas Museum.
Tour experiences will offer the chance to see giant haul trucks, shovels and drill rigs in action in the large surface mine between Victor and Cripple Creek, Colorado. Learn about the modern refining methods while helping to preserve the district’s 1890’s history - all tour proceeds go to the Museum to help offset operations and building renovation costs.
Admission is $8.50 per person plus a small online booking fee and can be completed at http://www.victormuseum.com. Children must be at least 5 years old to go on the tour. Please be sure to reserve your tour dates as they are very popular and fill up quickly.
