An Enchanting Story Comes to Life during the Modern Fairytale: Ben and the Magic Paintbrush

Today, the Fine Arts Center at Colorado College remains an amazing rarity — a museum, theatre and art school. Building upon our history as a cultural pillar, the FAC strives to inspire community vitality through performing arts, visual arts, and arts education. The FAC is proud to present the magical production of “Ben and the Magic Paintbrush”.

During this play, Megan and Ben are orphaned siblings alone in the world. She earns pennies as a human statue – painted silver – while her little brother draws marvelous portraits with only a stubby pencil. One fateful day, his artwork catches the eye of the malicious Mrs. Crawley, who has a scheme to make millions with a magic paintbrush.

When she captures Ben and puts him to work, it’s up to Megan and their new friend Pierre to help him escape, discovering the value of kindness and bravery along the way. An enchanting story from olden times comes to life in this modern-day fairy tale.

Admission is $20 for non-members, $18 for members, and $10 for kids 12 and under. Students can purchase rush tickets 1 hour before the performance at the Fine Arts Center front desk for $15. Colorado College students receive a free rush ticket but must present their CC Gold Card. Tickets are subject to availability.
